Among Mr. Russell’s representative clients are a variety of manufacturing and technology companies based here and abroad, including life sciences companies, medical equipment manufacturers, technology and Internet firms and Japanese automotive products companies , a number of real estate developers and lessors, restaurant franchisors, and a number of banks and other financial institutions.
Chairman of the Indiana District Export Council and an International Advisory Board member at the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, at Indiana and Purdue University Graduate Schools of Business, at Butler University and at Indiana University Law School, a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers Board of Neutral Arbitrators, and active as an officer and/or board member of numerous other professional, civic, educations and charitable organizations, Mr. Russell has been a frequent speaker here and abroad on business, securities, international law and intellectual property and real estate matters on radio and television programs; at civic, college, law school, continuing legal education and business seminars and on worldwide trade missions; and has published over 60 articles concerning business and international trade and technologies and cyberspace law.
Mr. Russell attended Dartmouth College, from which he received A.B. and M.B.A. degrees. He was an educator, a college chief financial officer, and a Woodrow Wilson Foundation Administrative Fellow prior to receiving his law degree with honors from Northwestern University. He is also licensed to practice law in Illinois.
In 2002, Mr. Russell was honored as Indiana’s “Global Businessperson of the Year,” and was designated a “Sagamore of the Wabash” by Indiana’s governor. Indianapolis’ mayor declared January 15, 2002, “David Williams Russell Day” in Indianapolis. He was named an “Indiana Super Lawyer” for 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 by Indianapolis Monthly and Law and Politics magazines.
